Simon Anderson is an Australian living in Utah. We met him in Salt Lake City and started rebuilding the platform he had developed; later he visited our team in Vilnius. Here’s our conversation about his business and impressions.

Tell us about your product

For five years I’ve been building Notis, a platform that helps high-school and college students communicate more effectively with parents and teachers — especially around out-of-class activities. It started in Australia and now operates in the US market.

How did you find ScaleTech?

Kiln, a co-working space in Utah, was using your services and its founder was very satisfied. A referral from Arian took away the risk and built the trust to try development in a country we hadn’t heard much about.

Does the time zone or remote work make development harder?

Overall, no. I’m not the type to sit next to a developer — even a US team would be flexible and remote. I was a bit worried about communication during Lithuanian night hours, but responses always came within a couple of hours and bugs were fixed in under 24. That made us comfortable.

The biggest advantage over other agencies?

Your model is built to scale for each company. You have a great network of developers and can offer the exact talent we need. The biggest advantage is I don’t go through hiring and recruitment — all the pressure is on you and you manage it perfectly. The management process is smoother than in the US. I’m already referring friends and other business people to ScaleTech: the process is smooth, and the team tells you how it is — no fluff.
